Summer School Program for 2011

With just two months left in the school year, it is time to start thinking about summer plans. One idea is to attend summer school to either move forward in the high school education or to re-address a problem subject. All courses are accredited by AdvancED and the State of Kansas. The courses are offered on a FLEXIBLE Schedule.
Because each child is works on an individualized basis, the student may start at any time and may attend on a flexible schedule as well. Each 1/2 credit is 60 hours, or three weeks. Weeks do not have to be consecutive. Cost is $325 per week: 9 am to 1 pm, Monday through Friday.

We offer High School Credit courses in the following topics:
Social Studies: World Geography, World History, United States History, American Government and Economics
Science: Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Earth/Space Science
Math: Fundamentals of Math; Algebra 1A, 1B, 1, Inter, 2; Geometry
English: 9, 10, 11, 12
Health

Middle School Students can also attend courses on Vocabulary Development, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Composition, Math, Social Studies, Science, Study Skills are incorporated.

Individualized Tutoring is available for students in grades 1 through 12. Most students focus on vocabulary development, reading comprehension, grammar, composition or math. Study skills are incorporated. Cost is $35 per hour.

Schedule Changes due to Snow Days

Hope everyone enjoyed Spring Break. Due to the number of snow days this year, Spring Break was shortened by one day. Also, the school year will be increased by two days. Students will have school 9 am to 1 pm, Wednesday through Friday, May 25 to 27, 2011. Final exams will be held on these three days. The original last day of school was Wednesday, May 25, 2011.
However, the Awards Banquet will still be held on May 5 for students in Grades 4 to 12. Graduation for seniors will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011, as previously scheduled.
